North Vancouver's original brewpub, on the waterfront since 1986. Good beer, good food, something on every night of the week. A crowd that tends to stay past the first round.
Allan and Brian Riedlinger opened this place in '86. You couldn't find a locally-brewed pint on the mainland back then. Gary Lohin brewed here for nine years. He went on to co-found Central City and win Brewery of the Year twice, but he cut his teeth right here.
The brewery building closed in 2002 when the province changed the rules. The recipes survived. Six of them are still brewed at Howe Sound, still on our taps, still the same beer.
